Walker Elementary school aspires to create experiences that build community and empower learners so they can live life on their own terms.
VISION
- Whole Child: We nurture the whole child by intentionally teaching Social and Emotional Learning through our Walker Success Skills and engaging students in active, hands-on learning.
- Accountability: We hold ourselves and our students to high expectations, following through with clarity and consistency to create the best possible learning environment.
- Learning From Data: We celebrate growth and guide instruction by using student data and teaching students to monitor/reflect on their own progress.
- Knowing Ourselves and Our Community: We honor our students’ diverse identities and connect our academic work to our broader community through outreach and shared responsibility.
- Empowerment: We empower students by giving them voice, choice, and opportunities to showcase their learning.
- Relationships: We build strong relationships through looping, Restorative Practices, and a commitment to a positive, collaborative culture.
